Anti-wrinkle injections temporarily stops the treated muscles from contracting therefore facial features are relaxed and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are improved.
ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENT
-
Anti-wrinkle treatment has minimal downtime. Most patients are able to continue with their day without interruptions. Some may notice some small bumps or marks in the area treated; these should resolve within a few hours.
-
You may notice the effects after 3-4 days however the full effect can take up to 2 weeks and will last up to 4 months. There is a complimentary 2 week review for every new patient or any patient who has anti-wrinkle treatment for the first time. When the treatment wears off, your muscles and skin will return back to the state of when you first had treatment done. Similarly the dose of anti-wrinkle treatment can be adjusted for subsequent treatments.
-
Ultimate care is taken to avoid possible side effects, however all medical treatments carries risks. The side effects of anti-wrinkle treatment are temporary.
Common:
Mild bruising or swelling.
Heaviness of the brows – occurs in some older patients due to poor muscle tone and can last the initial 2-3 weeks
Uncommon:
Dropping of the brow or eyelid
Changes in smile around the mouth
Asymmetric smile after jaw injections
Dermal filler is used to correct volume loss and defects in the skin by using a gel to replace volume loss.
DERMAL FILLERS
-
You will notice immediate effects of the dermal filler. During the first 24 to 48 hours you might experience redness, swelling and tenderness. These reactions are normal (especially for lip filler injections but common for all areas) and will resolve quickly and spontaneously after 2-4 days. Bruising is also common and can take up to 2 weeks to resolve.
-
It is common to be able to feel lumps in the areas that are treated with dermal filler but you must refrain from touching or massaging the lumps as it will displace the product. The lumps will gradually smooth out and integrate seamlessly into the skin over 2-4 weeks.
-
After the swelling and bruising has subsided and the dermal filler gel has integrated into the skin, you may find that you want more volume. That is completely fine, just ensure you give yourself 2-4 weeks in between treatments
-
Although dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6-20 months depending on the thickness that is selected and the area treated, there is emerging studies suggesting that dermal fillers can actually lasts longer than indicated and you may not need to top up so frequently.
-
No worries. Because dermal filler is made of hyaluronic acid, there is an antidote that will instantly dissolve the filler. If you would like the have another procedure with dermal fillers, it is recommended you wait 2 weeks.
It’s best practice to return to the original injector to have your dermal fillers dissolved, however I would be happy to offer an assessment for dissolving if required.
